Throughout the year and around the globe cake artists and admirers attend the various gatherings. And with displays of competition cakes, and demonstrations to wow they are fascinating….but there’s nothing quite like Cake International.
A cake International award is the aspiration of cake artists worldwide, and they come in their hundreds to compete. Driving and flying their exquisite flowers, delicate piping and towering cakes to Birmingham hoping to win a gold, best in class, and maybe just maybe Best in Show.
This is the original, the mothership if you will, the one that paved the way for others to follow.
… Here comes Cake International 2017!
Following on from the hugely successful show earlier this year at Alexandra Palace, November’s show at Birmingham promises to be bigger than ever before. Last year there were in excess of a thousand competition entries in the various categories filling the biggest competition area ever!
There promises to be more competitors this year (is it possible?!) with the creative and artistic standard raising to new heights. You can be pretty sure this year will be a spectacle to remember.
We will have the tools you need including Cassie Brown’s airbrush and tool range, the ultimate storage solution that is the Deflecto Caddy, ComposiMold, Silli and the ever popular Magic Colours.
Magic Colours gels and paints were in use in all corners of the show by their Champions, and a wealth of artists who love the brand.
There were some great highlights from the Shesto stand in April, but here are just a few to electrify your pre show enthusiasm
The lovely Lindy Smith, author and all round cake legend wowed spectators in the theatre audience with her beautiful bubbles – and we promptly sold out of metallic airbrush paints! Get the tutorial here ~ Lindys cakes gelatin baubles
Sassy Sarah Sibley sparkled in the sunshine sharing cupcake topper secrets and painting techniques with our visitors.
And the brilliant Zoe Burmester stunned shoppers with her mini food perfection.. burger anyone?
We showed you how to make a mould from just about anything with Silli, including these fab geode cupcake toppers,
Magic Colours Champion Jacqui Kelly made a splash with her adorable flamingo demonstration in the theatre.
… And we made a little magic happen with some plain sprinkles and our lustre dusts.
This year we have even more amazing artists to share their skills on our stand!
