How to get started?
There are several ways to apply foil to your craft, in this article we focus on heat-activated foils, with the Modelcraft Foil Art Pen everything you need is right there in the kit!
How does it work?
- Lay the foil across the surface you wish to decorate, keeping the shiny side up, ensure it's flat and secure in place with some low-tack masking tape.
- Plug the Foil Art Pen into a USB port and allow it to heat up.
- After a few minutes the pen will be ready, simply touch the tip gently to the surface of the foil and write or draw!
Tips & Tricks
Before starting your project it's best to test the design out on some scrap paper or card, try out different styles, and have fun!
Print out a design and secure it above the foil, you can use this as a stencil and the heat will still reach through.
Always take care when using a heat tool, don't leave it running unattended, and be sure to replace it on the stand when not in use.
